Reporting to the Deputy Principal Wellbeing, this role is integral to fostering a child safe environment and promoting the College’s values.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Model, inspire, and support staff and students with a focus on continually improving student learning and wellbeing outcomes.</li> <li>Support and liaise with the Head of Counselling Services and Heads of Year (7, 8 &amp; 9) with ongoing behavioural/pastoral care/attendance and wellbeing concerns or issues.</li> <li>Ensure consistent approaches to student wellbeing and management and lead the application of restorative practices throughout the College.</li> <li>Lead and develop the Middle Pastoral Care Program in conjunction with the Heads of Year (7, 8 &amp; 9).</li> <li>Assist with the planning and coordination of events.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Key Selection Criteria:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A demonstrated understanding and commitment to the ethos of a Catholic school and its mission.</li> <li>Up-to-date knowledge of wellbeing practices and procedures.</li> <li>Knowledge of appropriate avenues and resources for seeking information to support students, parents, and staff.</li> <li>Perseverance, sensitivity, compassion, and patience in the face of complex and difficult situations.</li> <li>A high level of discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.&nbsp;</li> <li>Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Position Details:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Commencing Term 4, 2025 or later by negotiation.</li> <li>POL4 with a time allowance: 0.5 FTE (22 / 44 periods per cycle).</li> <li>This role is for a two-year term (the successful candidate will receive an ongoing contract for a teaching position).</li> </ul> <p><strong>&nbsp;Why Join John Paul College:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Be part of a supportive and dynamic educational community.</li> <li>Opportunities for professional development and career progression.</li> <li>A collaborative work environment that values innovation and excellence in teaching.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Application will close:</strong></p> <p>Friday, 15 August, at 4.00pm</p> <p><strong>How to Apply:</strong></p> <p>Candidates must have the right to live and work in Australia and provide evidence of this.
