We are seeking a permanent, full-time Senior School Nurse to work term-time only.

We look for vibrant, dedicated, and capable staff who have initiative, empathy, a good sense of humour and a professional behaviour to help the School achieve its objectives.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>We are seeking a permanent, full-time Senior School Nurse to work term-time only. &nbsp;</p> <p>In this position the School Nurse will provide direct health care to our both day and boarding students during school term time and oversee management of the Health Centre.&nbsp; This will include providing first aid and initial assessment of illness through a well-equipped Health Centre, providing safe &amp; effective direct nursing care in line with nursing best practice principles, as well as liaising between local Doctor’s and the Boarding House.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>If this is you, please keep reading!&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What You Need to Do to Succeed&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Know and treat each child in your care as an individual and encourage self-discipline and a sense of responsibility&nbsp;</li> <li>Ensure the health needs of a student or staff member suffering an illness or accident are effectively met&nbsp;</li> <li>Monitor the health status of boarding students, and where applicable and with parental consent, refer on to relevant appropriate health/medical specialists&nbsp;</li> <li>Provide administrative support in the clinic including review all new student health information, manage new and current student medical files and ensuring medical information is communicated to staff as appropriate&nbsp;</li> <li>Effectively oversee the Management of the Health Centre by supervising all nursing staff, coordinating the nursing roster, ensuring systems are efficient and effective, and policies and procedures are up to date&nbsp;</li> <li>Manage the Health Centre Budget&nbsp;</li> <li>Facilitate NSW schools immunisation program&nbsp;</li> <li>Perform other duties as required by the Deputy Head of School.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What You Bring&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Registered Nursing qualifications with clinical experience.&nbsp;</li> <li>Current Registration certified by the Australian Health Regulators Agency&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience in managing immunisation programs, anaphylaxis and allergy action plans, diabetes, asthma and mental health needs in community settings&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and professional conduct&nbsp;</li> <li>Effective written and verbal communication skills&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to follow instructions, work unsupervised and be a cooperative team member&nbsp;</li> <li>Understanding of and commitment to WHS legislation and risk management principles&nbsp;</li> <li>A valid Working with Children Clearance (WWCC) and First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Interested?&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>Further information, including a position description for this role is available at <a href="https://www.ascham.nsw.edu.au/connecting/careers-at-ascham" rel="nofollow"><u>https://www.ascham.nsw.edu.au/connecting/careers-at-ascham</u></a>&nbsp;</p> <p>If this sounds like you, please <strong>apply via </strong><a href="https://www.seek.com.au/job/86064899?ref=cm-ui" rel="nofollow"><strong>SEEK</strong></a> no later than <strong>11.59pm on Monday 11 August 2025</strong>.
