<p><strong>ABOUT THE POSITION</strong></p> <p>The Junior School Nurse provides quality health care to Cranbrook Junior School students, as well as first aid for emergency care or injury of staff and visitors. The role includes monitoring of students at risk (such as returning to sport) and with special health requirements, medication administration, and maintenance of health records.&nbsp; The Junior School Nurse also assists the Office Manager with specified administrative tasks related to the care and well-being of students.&nbsp; The Junior School Nurse is based in the dedicated Junior School Health Centre.</p> <p>The position is school term time only, with salary annualised and paid over 52 weeks.&nbsp;</p> <p>Cranbrook School staff enjoy a stimulating work environment as part of a team of talented professionals, excellent opportunities for professional development, and attractive remuneration and benefits including onsite parking and daily lunch.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>ABOUT YOU</strong></p> <p>You have nursing experience in a primary school setting, or experience in general practice or community nursing working with young primary aged children.&nbsp;You have a genuine interest in health promotion and student welfare and have a kind and empathetic nature.&nbsp;</p> <p>You are professionally presented, reliable, dedicated, have strong interpersonal skills, and understand and maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality.</p> <p><strong>SELECTION CRITERIA</strong></p> <ul> <li>Registered Nurse with current registration certified by AHPRA&nbsp;</li> <li>Nursing experience in a primary school setting, or experience in general practice or community nursing working with young primary aged children</li> <li>Comfortable using a range of IT applications</li> <li>Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li> <li>Ability to build relationships with a range of people within the School community, including students, parents and staff</li> <li>A proactive, organised approach, demonstrated initiative and strong attention to detail</li> <li>A friendly, kind and courteous manner</li> <li>Ability to think clearly and remain calm under pressure</li> <li>Patience and a sense of humour</li> <li>A level of mobility that supports the ability to respond to a first aid / behavioural incident</li> <li>Strong physical, mental and emotional health to deal with the required demands and responsibilities of the role&nbsp;</li> <li>Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications</li> <li>A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children</li> <li>A demonstrated understanding of child safety and appropriate behaviours when engaging with children.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>HOW TO APPLY</strong></p> <p>Applications should include a resume and a cover letter addressing the selection criteria and reasons for your interest in the position.
