We are seeking an innovative, proactive, and passionate School Support Officer to join our Student Services team.<br><br> This is an ongoing, part-time position commencing Term 3, 2025, working two days per week (Thursday and Friday), with opportunities for additional ad-hoc days.</p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>This crucial role supports a positive and supportive environment for all students. As the primary point of contact for student, parent, and staff inquiries, you will manage student records, provide vital pastoral care, and coordinate essential services. You'll work collaboratively with the College Support Staff team, students, and parents, playing a key part in the effective administration of our school and upholding our values and mission.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Frontline Support: </strong>Act as the main point of contact for all College students, parents, and staff, providing excellent customer service and a helpful, cooperative approach.</li> <li><strong>Student Wellbeing &amp; First Aid: </strong>Provide immediate support, administer basic first aid, manage minor illnesses/injuries, and refer complex cases efficiently and professionally to the Wellbeing team (Instructional Leader: Wellbeing, Counsellor, Assistant Principal, or College Principal).</li> <li><strong>Attendance &amp; Communication: </strong>Monitor student attendance, follow up on absences, process leave requests, and communicate effectively with parents/guardians.</li> <li><strong>Student Information System (Compass): </strong>Maintain and update student data and information accurately within the Compass system.</li> <li><strong>Administrative Support: </strong>Maintain accurate student records (personal, medical, attendance), assist with enrolments, and manage general office duties.</li> <li><strong>Event &amp; Program Assistance: </strong>Support the coordination of school excursions, events, and student leadership initiatives, including managing notifications via Compass and preparing first aid kits/medical requirements for off-site activities and sport.</li> <li><strong>Pastoral Care: </strong>Offer empathetic and confidential support to students, referring complex issues to appropriate pastoral care staff (e.g. School Counsellor, Head of Wellbeing, Year Level Coordinator).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Essential Criteria</strong><br><br> We are looking for a highly organised individual with exceptional communication skills and a commitment to Catholic Education.</p> <ul> <li><strong>Experience: </strong>Proven experience in administration or professional support, ideally in a fast-paced setting.</li> <li><strong>Communication: </strong>Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.</li> <li><strong>Student-Centric Approach: </strong>Empathetic, patient, and able to maintain strict confidentiality when dealing with students and sensitive information.</li> <li><strong>Team Player: </strong>Proactive, problem-solver, and a collaborative team player aligned with school values.</li> <li><strong>Organisational Skills: </strong>Highly organised with strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and work to deadlines.</li> <li><strong>Autonomy: </strong>Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction.</li> <li><strong>Technical Proficiency: </strong>Competent and confident in using a variety of software programs including Google platform, microsoft excel, and MS Office.
