Your New Role

The Business Manager is accountable to the Principal for the effective organisation, execution, and oversight of all non-teaching operations at the College. This includes direct leadership and management of the school’s support and operations teams. Kildare Catholic College is a growing Catholic systemic school with around 1,000 students, and the Principal also holds oversight of Mount Erin Boarding School. The Business Manager supports both the Principal and the Head of Boarding in fulfilling this responsibility. As a senior member of the leadership team, the Business Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient, safe, secure, and financially sustainable operation of the College’s campuses and support services. The role requires a strong commitment to teamwork and a deep alignment with the College’s mission, values, and Catholic ethos.

Selection Criteria

Qualifications & Registrations

• Professional qualifications in Business Management, Accounting and Finance and/or Administrative Management. Membership of appropriate professional networks / organisations is encouraged e.g. ASBA
• Relevant industry accreditation and/or registrations per role discipline
• NSW Working with Children Check
• Successful Candidate to undertake a National Criminal History Check
• Accreditation for Support Staff in a Catholic School (Category A, Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools, Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga) or working towards Accreditation.

Knowledge & Experience

• Ability to work independently, but also function as an effective team leader and team member
• Demonstrated record of adopting a consultative and innovative approach in the delivery of accounting, finance, debtors and administrative management services to customers and a commitment to high service levels
• Experience using and where required learn new financial applications, software tools and the ability to use these skills to successfully structure, access and use data in a manner to support efficient decision making
• Experience in identification and deployment of asset management procedures and processes
• Experience as a school Business Manager is preferred

• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise professionally with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to critically analyse and interpret data (e.g., quotations and cost comparisons) and synthesise practical recommendations or actionable objectives
• Highly organised individual with abilities in work allocation and prioritisation, in a busy service-oriented team environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to take initiative with idea generation, problem resolution and process improvement
• Ability to work to strict deadlines and prioritise conflicting time-bound priorities

• Ability to use the Compass platform is desired
