<p>The Library Technician / Digital Resource Specialist supports the broader work of the library in developing a culture of reading and a love of learning within the College, with a particular focus on the technical and digital aspects of the service.</p> <p>Reporting to the Head of Library Services, the Library Technician / Digital Resource Specialist is a permanent, full-time term-time position, with four additional, negotiated, non-term weeks. Some 7:30am starts and 4:30pm finishes are also required during the school week.</p> <p>Key skills</p> <ul> <li>Tertiary qualifications at Certificate/Diploma level (or equivalent), such as the ALIA accredited <i>Diploma in Library and Information Studies</i>.</li> <li>A high level of skill in using library management systems (preferably Oliver) and experience in managing a range of digital resources and services.</li> <li>Expert digital skills and technological knowledge.</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.</li> <li>Demonstrated interest in children’s literature and literacy, and the ability to work confidently with students of all ages.</li> <li>A willingness to work collaboratively within a team to innovate and adapt services to meet the changing requirements of contemporary learning.</li> <li>Hold a paid <i>Working With Children</i> (WWC) Blue Card, First Aid Certificate (or willingness to complete) and Drivers Licence.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Key responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Managing the library database, including cataloguing of library resources, stocktaking, weeding and maintenance of borrower records.</li> <li>Maintaining and creating new digital content; including research and information guides, news pages and promotional content.</li> <li>Maintaining and updating a range of digital resources, digital equipment and online teaching and learning subscriptions and supporting staff and students to use digital technologies.</li> <li>Assisting students and staff with locating information and supporting their development of library, information, media and digital literacy skills.</li> <li>Assisting with library programs, lessons and activities, as well as broader extra and co-curricular programs and special school events outside of the library learning space.</li> <li>Collaborating with the library team to develop and support reading for pleasure and other library programs for the wider College community.</li> </ul> <p>Applications close:&nbsp; 9 am - 22 April 2025</p>
