The School:

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Thamarrurr Catholic College is a K-12 comprehensive Catholic College located 430 km by road from Darwin in the community of Wadeye, servicing the community and surrounding outstations. Wadeye is the 6th most populous town and the largest Aboriginal community in the Northern Territory.

The position:

The Deputy Principal (Primary) holds a senior leadership position in a Catholic School. The Deputy Principal (Primary) is challenged to be a person of faith and vision for Catholic education and have the capacity to communicate this vision to others in the school community. The Deputy Principal (Primary) works collaboratively with the Principal and other members of the school leadership team to provide strategic and operational leadership in the following areas: Catholic Identity, Leadership, Teaching & Learning, Pastoral Care & Wellbeing, Community and Culture and Finance, Facilities and Resources.

Essential Criteria:

  • A Catholic who is an active member of a Catholic Eucharistic community.
  • If circumstances warrant it, we will accept applications from a person of faith who is an active member of their community and is committed to Catholic values and participation in Catholic Worship.
  • Postgraduate qualifications or undertaking to commence studies in Religious Education, Theology and/or Educational Leadership.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with NT Teacher Registration Board.
  • Working with Children Card (Ochre Card NT).
