Covering an expansive geographical area which includes the Central Coast, Sydney’s Northern Beaches and North Shore, Catholic Schools Broken Bay is a system serving 45 Catholic Schools with around 18,000 students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

The Role

We are currently seeking a Procurement Business Partner to join our high performing and passionate Facilities and Procurement Workstream. Reporting to the Commercial and Procurement Manager, the ideal candidate is a collaborative and agile individual who enjoys working in a fast paced environment. This position collaborates with stakeholders and suppliers to support the achievement of strategic objectives, ensure value-driven sourcing, and have an intentional focus on continuously improving the CSBB procurement framework and processes.

This is a permanent, full-time role with the opportunity to work from home 1 day a week.

Salary: Circa 128K plus super

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements strategic sourcing strategies for various goods and services required by CSBB by way of refining supplier categories, conducting market research, identifying potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective procurement
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with suppliers by leveraging CSBB’s Procurement Framework to evaluate supplier performance, conducting regular supplier audits, addressing any issues or concerns, and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Manages the end-to-end contract lifecycle by partnering with the SMEs in other teams to provide input into drafting and reviewing contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, negotiating terms and conditions, and managing contract renewals and terminations
  • Partners with internal stakeholders to provide input into procurement budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-saving initiatives having analysed spending patterns and identifying opportunities for service delivery and cost reduction
  • Identifies and mitigates procurement-related risks, such as supply chain disruptions, supplier financial instability, or non-compliance with procurement policies by developing risk management strategies, conducting risk assessments, and implementing appropriate risk mitigation measures
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders in schools and the CSBB Head Office to understand their procurement needs and requirements
  • Keeps up to date with industry-leading practices, emerging trends, and advancements in procurement technology to apply in practice and continuously enhance contemporary knowledge and skills in the field of work
  • Ensures compliance with relevant legislation regulations, and CSBB policies and procedures governing procurement activities by promoting ethical procurement practices, preventing conflicts of interest, and conducting regular internal audits to ensure adherence to procurement standards

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience working in a procurement function
  • Tertiary degree in Engineering, Law, Business or related field
  • Supportive of, or can demonstrate an understanding and commitment to, the ethos of the Catholic faith in an educational context
  • Demonstrated experience in managing tendering processes including associated contract administration, supply management and purchasing processes
  • Understanding of procurement and supply chain industry best practices, framework and relevant statutory and regulatory standards
  • Skilled in processing and interpreting data from multiple data sets
  • Expertise in the effective use of data and evidence to inform and drive improvement
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritise & re-prioritise tasks accordingly
  • A keen eye for detail to deliver consistently accurate and informed written and verbal communications suitable for the receiving audience
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Energised by working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to pivot and adapt to change with a solutions-focused mindset
  • Advanced knowledge and skill in the Microsoft suite of products, with specific proficiency in Excel and the use of PowerBI
  • NSW Driver's Licence
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity (CPSD) (desirable)
