The Religious Education program of St Patrick’s works in partnership with all other faculties of the College. In particular, this program works with the Spiritual Development program to ensure a holistic, human and authentically Catholic formation of students, staff and parents. As an experienced educator, you will delight providing a powerful context to enhance understanding of the nature and significance of religion.

Permanent full-time (1.0 FTE) position commencing Monday 28 April 2025.

You will be committed to the achievement of excellence; a strong collaborator; and, confident in effective pedagogy and classroom management. You will be someone who is committed to delivering the best possible teaching practices and learning experiences, integrated with a thorough content knowledge.

This opportunity offers a well-supported environment for pre-service teachers nearing completion of their degree, those who are currently undertaking their final internship, or recent graduates ready to begin their career.

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate you satisfy all of the following selection criteria:

Essential criteria

  • A working understanding of, and commitment to the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition.
  • Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice.
  • Qualified to teach Religious Education (Stage 4 and Stage 5) and Studies of Religion (Stage 6) with NESA Accreditation and approval to teach in NSW.
  • Committed to excellence as a classroom practitioner.
  • Commitment to effective classroom management through clear expectations, proactive behaviour strategies, and fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Ability to apply differentiation of curriculum in the classroom.
  • Effectively incorporates ICT into teaching, learning, and assessment to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

Desirable Criteria

  • Qualified and experienced in delivering HSIE (Stage 4 to Stage 6) courses.
