We are seeking a full-time Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our team on a 2 year fixed term contract basis.

Reporting to the Director ICT, the TPM assists Ascham in delivering its digital transformation program to improve and streamline business systems and processes. The position holder will work with both academic and corporate staff, to develop and deliver technical solutions that meet identified business needs and strategic objectives within scope, time, and budget constraints.

The role is responsible for managing complex technical projects from inception to completion; and requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and leadership abilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with program and project stakeholders to define scope, objectives, and deliverables
  • Developing detailed project plans and ensuring Ascham projects are executed in line with these
  • Leading and motivating project teams to foster a collaborative and high-performance environment
  • Overseeing the development, testing, and implementation of technical solutions for projects
  • Offering technical guidance and support to project teams
  • Selecting and evaluating program vendors, negotiating contracts and monitoring performance
  • Managing project risks and issues, and implementing mitigation strategies as required
  • Ensuring project deliverables meet quality standards, regulations and best practice
  • Maintaining project documentation, including status reports, meeting minutes, and project plans
  • Ensuring program and project governance with regular updates to stakeholders on progress, risks, and issues via working groups and steering committees.

Essential Criteria

  • 5+ years’ experience in similar roles with a track record of delivering complex, transformative projects across culture, process and technology.
  • A strong technical background, with experience in software development, systems engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, and experience with Agile / SAFe principles and practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills and facilitation skills, with a commitment to positive and professional relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • A current Working with Children clearance.

Experience in the education sector, and in Prosci ADKAR or another Change Management methodology is highly desirable.
