We are seeking a temporary full-time Mathematics teacher for Term 2, 2025. This long service leave cover position will include a loading of Mathematics teaching and Mathematics Learning Enhancement. Experience with students in need of extra support or extension in Mathematics is welcomed, with the successful candidate enjoying the possibility of a flexible timetable, a stimulating work environment in a team of talented professionals, and attractive remuneration and benefits.

Curriculum, Teaching and Learning Responsibilities

• Developing and using an innovative curriculum on the school’s CANVAS Learning Management System.
• Teaching numeracy according to the School’s Dalton Principles of Responsibility, Independence, Collaboration and Reflection.
• Creating a stimulating classroom environment where students can flourish.
• Arranging and facilitating workshops for senior HSC students in a flexible weekly timetable.
• Managing and working with students requiring extra support or with gaps in their knowledge.
• Offering activities to talented students including enrichment clubs.
• Marking work for students within one week of submission.

What do you need to succeed?

• A tertiary major in a Mathematics and / or Statistics discipline.
• Accreditation with NESA and ability to teach HSC levels.
• Ability to differentiate for a diverse group of non-selective students.
• Ability to teach to the strengths of girls.
• Experience in teaching neuro-diverse or mathematically gifted students.
• Experience and willingness to manage students in need of extra support in consultation with the Head of Mathematics and Head of Learning Enhancement.
• Demonstrated excellence in communication and writing skills.
• Well-developed time management and organisational skills.
• Proven ICT skills within an environment where students bring a personal device to school.
• Willingness to continue to develop as a teacher.
• A current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
• A valid Working with Children clearance.
