Our Lady of Mercy College (OLMC), Parramatta is a leading Catholic independent school for girls established by the Sisters of Mercy in 1889. The College is located within a dynamic educational precinct in North Parramatta. 



The opportunity

The successful applicant will have experience teaching History and Geography across Stages 4 and 5. They will demonstrate the ability to develop and deliver coursework aligned with the syllabus, create engaging tasks that foster critical thinking, and provide timely, constructive feedback to support student reflection and growth. This role is dedicated to nurturing the gifts and talents of each student ensuring that our Catholic practices and Mercy values underpin all aspects of life in the school.



What are we looking for?

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications to teach History and Geography in NSW.
  • Experience teaching History and Geography across Stages 4 and 5.
  • Capacity to critically reflect and adjust teaching practice to improve learning outcomes.
  • Capacity to establish a supportive environment conducive to effective student learning.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, administrative, organisational and collaborative working skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to the teaching requirements of the College.
  • Willingness to actively support and participate in the life of the College, and the Catholic mission and Mercy values of the College.
  • Willingness to participate in the co-curricular life of the College (noting that there are no regular weekend sporting commitments).
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check number.
  • Have appropriate NESA accreditation.
