Your New Role

The Food Services Officer oversees the delivery and service of food and catering across the school. This position is responsible for the making, serving and replenishing of food operations in the school community (inclusive of the Cafe, Canteen and Vending Machines). This position is also responsible for the food preparation for both the Canteen and CAFE as well as the catering requirements for the community. This role is also required to provide the service of meals and snacks, preparing menus and processing payments using the point-of-sale system.

The CAFE and Canteen are required to provide a healthy food alternative to ensure the community has available to it a range of appropriate and economical food options in our community

Selection Criteria

  • Experience in managing the day to day running of successful food services, including safe handling of food, appropriate food preparation knowledge and experience, restocking supplies, balancing budgets
  • Experience in preparing menus, meals and snacks that are based on customer feedback and preferences in accordance with food safety standards and quality controls.
  • Experience in resolving customer complaints regarding food quality, customer service or other issues.
  • Ability to aim for the targeted KPI’s in regards to food services
  • Demonstrated experience in coffee making/barista skills or willingness to learn
  • A proven high level of professional collaboration and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills and experience to provide excellent food services in our community
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment in a professional and courteous manner.

Essential Requirements:

  • Current NSW Working With Children Check
  • Food handling Certificate
  • Diploma or equivalent in Hospitality Management is highly desirable
  • successful candidate to undergo a Functional assessment and National Criminal History Check.
