About Frensham Schools
Established in 1913, Frensham is one of Australia’s most respected boarding and day schools for girls. Frensham Junior School was founded in 1954 and is now the leading academic, co-educational primary school and preschool in the Southern Highlands. At Frensham Schools we inspire students to be critical, ethical and flexible thinkers, equipped to be future leaders in a complex and rapidly changing world.
Our passionate and dedicated staff work as a highly professional team that takes the time to consider and support each student’s individual learning, growth and development as independent, empowered young people. In a stimulating living and learning environment, surrounded by an abundance of natural beauty, our students are challenged and supported to develop the skills and the motivation to contribute positively to their local and global communities. They are taught to value kindness, resilience, empathy and compassion, and to carry these attributes with them for life, alongside the School’s core values.
Role Overview
Frensham Junior School is seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator, with a Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care, to join the Preschool on a part-time basis (2-4 days per week) for the remainder of 2025, with the possibility of extension into 2026.
Frensham Junior School is the Preschool and Primary campus of Frensham Schools. Single stream and co-educational, Frensham Junior School have a highly experienced team of staff and is set on a magnificent campus of 10 acres with outstanding specialist facilities for core and extra-curricular teaching and learning.
At Frensham Junior School Preschool, we believe that children are capable of constructing their own learning and form an understanding of themselves and their place in the world through their interactions with others. We believe children are effective communicators and that adults act as mentors and guides - promoting, documenting, sharing and reflecting on children’s thinking. Our Preschool children take part in active, outdoor learning, caring for our Land for Wildlife Area, within a native bushland setting. The Preschool playground has been designed to encourage imaginative and constructive play.
Our Preschool is accredited and registered with the Early Childhood Education and Care Directorate and the Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority. Programming is underpinned by the Early Years Learning Framework and Reggio Emilia Philosophy of early childhood education. Preschool children also participate in an expanded specialist programme, which includes Library, Music and Physical Education sessions. They take part in an annual P-6 Junior Musical and other whole School events.
Applicants should be keen to work within a progressive learning environment where the latest research guides best practice and the wider community of the school is highly valued. Building strong partnerships with families and fostering a sense of community within the preschool is an important element to this role. This includes monitoring and recording each child's progress, development, and milestones and communicating regularly with parents or caregivers.
