<p><i>St Dominic’s College, Kingswood is a Catholic school in the Blessed Edmund Rice tradition conducted by Edmund Rice Education Australia. Founded by the Christian Brothers in 1959, the College has a current enrolment of just over 1000 boys, Years 7 – 12. The mission of St Dominic's College is to create a caring environment where excellence in Education is evident within the Catholic tradition and the Spirit of Edmund Rice.&nbsp;</i></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Diverse Learning Teacher – Literacy Intervention Specialist to join our team on a permanent part-time basis (3 days per week). With a start date to be negotiated with the Acting College Principal.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>This role is ideal for an educator who is committed to supporting students with diverse learning needs and has expertise in literacy intervention strategies.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Key responsibilities include:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement targeted literacy intervention programs to support students with diverse learning needs.</li> <li>Provide small-group and one-on-one literacy support to students requiring additional assistance.</li> <li>Collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate instruction and implement inclusive teaching practices.</li> <li>Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and adjustments to intervention strategies.</li> <li>Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents, staff, and learning support teams.</li> <li>Contribute to the development of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and support students in achieving their literacy goals.</li> <li>Engage with the broader College community and contribute to pastoral and co-curricular programs.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Essential Criteria:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A working understanding and strong commitment to Catholic values, morals, and faith in the Edmund Rice tradition.</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education.</li> <li>Accreditation with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) or eligibility to obtain it.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in literacy intervention and supporting students with diverse learning needs.&nbsp;</li> <li>A strong understanding of evidence-based literacy teaching strategies and programs. &nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Highly Desirable Criteria:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience teaching Stages 4, 5 &amp; 6.&nbsp;</li> <li>Tertiary qualification in Special and Inclusive Education</li> <li>Demonstrated passion for student-centred learning and a proven ability to effectively engage students.</li> <li>Excellent organisation and planning skills; must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities within given deadlines.</li> <li>Sound knowledge of the unique learning needs of young men.&nbsp;</li> <li>Be actively involved in, and supportive of, College co-curricular activities</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Applicants are encouraged to visit the College website&nbsp;<a href="http://www.stdominics.nsw.edu.au" rel="nofollow">www.stdominics.nsw.edu.au</a>&nbsp;for further information about the College.
