Year Level/Subject: Across all levels of the school Tier One support. The role of the Learning Support Officer is to assist with individual student needs under the supervision and direction of the teacher. This role is FTE 0.82, 31 hours her week from Monday - Friday, 8:45am - 3:15pm.

<p><strong>START DATE: Term 2, 2025.</strong></p> <p>The role of the Learning Support Officer is to assist with individual student needs under the supervision and direction of the teacher. This role is FTE 0.82, 31 hours her week from Monday - Friday, 8:45am - 3:15pm.</p> <p>The role will commence at the start of Term 2 and conclude at the end of the 2025 school year. There is a possibility of a contract extension into 2026, depending on NCCD funding.&nbsp;</p> <p>Should you wish to negotiate the hours, please include this in your application.&nbsp;</p> <p>The school reserves the right to employ before the application window has closed.&nbsp;</p> <p>The main<strong> responsibilities</strong> of this role are:</p> <p><strong>Tier One Support</strong></p> <ul> <li>Work closely with the Learning Diversity Leader and wider LSO team.&nbsp;</li> <li>Checking in with the classroom teacher on arrival, to find out what they need assistance with (unless otherwise aware).</li> <li>Offering support to all students, directed by the classroom teacher.</li> <li>Checking in with identified key students for a few minutes and supporting them with whole class activities.</li> <li>Assist in the delivery of the curriculum if required.</li> <li>Supporting students as they sit on the floor, sitting side by side, or a chair next to them.</li> <li>Roving during independent work time.</li> <li>Assist with the supervision of pupils in playgrounds, at camps, on excursions, in sporting activities, therapy activities, life skills etc when required.</li> <li>Assist in the preparation of student resources and equipment if required.</li> <li>Assist with the communication between students and teachers, particularly the interpretation of instructions.</li> <li>Produce basic curriculum support resources under guidance of the teacher.</li> <li>Be led by the classroom teacher, who may ask you to rove/keep students on task while they work closely with groups/individual students.</li> <li>Working with a small group to support them in completing the learning tasks.</li> <li>Participate in professional development and attend staff meetings when required.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>This community is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care.</p> <p>Special Requirements</p> <p><strong>Education:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Integration Aide/Teacher Aide Certificate preferred but not mandatory.</li> <li>Child Safety &amp; Mandatory Reporting Training.</li> <li>First aid, anaphylaxis and asthma certificates.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Personal Characteristics:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Ability to work effectively in a team environment.</li> <li>Effective digital technology skills.</li> </ul>
