Applications are invited for a passionate Saxaphone Tutor to join Santa Maria College. Currently for 1 day per week during Term 2, this position has the possibility of extension.

A unique opportunity exists for suitably qualified enthusiastic and energetic Saxophone Specialist to tutor students enrolled in the College Music program.

This position will commence on the week beginning 5th May, 2025.

About you

  • Experience in a school setting and music notation reading skills preferred.
  • Experience in teaching alto and tenor saxophone required.
  • This position includes one Alto Saxophone and one Tenor Saxophone Group that are part of the Year 7 program.
  • Able to maintain accurate records of student attendance, student performance and progress.
  • Complete other administrative tasks as required.
  • Work in a team with other teachers in the Music Department.
  • Cooperate with school procedures in relation to matters such as student attendance, punctuality, care of rooms and adherence to rules.
  • Adhere to all school policies and attend meetings when requested.
  • Must hold a current Working with Children Check.
  • Must hold a current Police Check.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficient in the use of ICT for communication and record keeping.
  • Interpersonal skills appropriate to establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, staff and parents, particularly the ability to work as a member of a team.
