About You

Marist Catholic College Penshurst is seeking a committed professional to join the Marist Catholic College support staff as a Groundsman to assist the Maintenance and Facilities Manager. This is a full-time position to commence at the start of Term 2, Monday, 28 April.

This position's primary responsibilities in supporting the Maintenance Manager include:

  • minor repairing and maintenance of College equipment, resources and buildings
  • driving of the College Minibus (24 seater) with the appropriate license or a willingness to obtain the
    license. If necessary, the license will be paid for by the College
  • assisting with cleaning and repairs as a result of student accidents, extreme weather, acts of vandalism etc
  • moving items of furniture and classroom supplies around and set up furniture and equipment for sporting and special events
  • completing daily security routines (including school lockup and setting of alarm system) and safety
    inspections of grounds and equipment
  • maintaining the quality appearance of the College grounds and gardens
  • liaising with various suppliers, providers and contractors on matters such as building works, plumbing, waste disposal, fire services and safety equipment
  • complying with WHS standards including appropriate chemical and storage procedures.

Desirable criteria:

  • previous experience in a school environment
  • qualification in relevant trade.
