Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified teacher to join our Specialist Team. The successful applicant must:

• be faith filled with a strong commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school and to the spiritual, emotional, social and educational wellbeing of all students
• show exemplary learning and teaching skills with the capacity to engage students in a rich learning environment
• work collegially with our P-2 Visual Arts Specialist Teacher in providing a well constructed, explicit and sequential Visual Arts curriculum.
• have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to continue to build strong relationships with students, staff and parents
• enjoy working with a diverse group of students from a range of backgrounds and have knowledge of EAL best practise
• have a thorough knowledge of assessment strategies, be adept at analysing these and use this data effectively
• have an understanding of contemporary learning and Victorian Curriculum.

The successful applicant needs to:

• be eager to embrace the Catholic ethos of our school
• be accredited to work in a Catholic school or agree to achieve this within the next few years
• be committed to child safety and maintaining best practices to ensure this and to ongoing evaluation of these practices
• committed to maintaining the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic School Child Safe Code of Conduct standards.
• hold a current VIT registration

The successful applicant will be a member of the school community and as such, will participate in the regular life of the school. He/she will undertake other duties such as those in relation to supervision of students, extra-curricular activities etc, as required by the Principal.
