Saint Ignatius’ College is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced rugby coaches for a coaching coordinator position. The position is a seasonal appointment, part-time position and the successful candidate will be required to work 26 hours per week which includes Saturdays.

The position is a seasonal appointment, part-time position and the successful candidate will be required to work 26 hours per week which includes Saturdays. Our rugby coaching program occurs before (6:30-8:30am) and after school (3:30-5:30pm) and the successful candidate needs to be available in these times as well as planning and preparation outside of these hours.

The Rugby Coaching Coordinator is responsible for managing and supporting all senior rugby coaches throughout the season. Reporting directly to the Program Coordinator - Rugby, the Rugby Coaching Coordinator ensures that training sessions and fixtures are well-structured, organised, and effectively delivered. The role involves overseeing coaching staff, planning training sessions, assisting with selections, and supporting the Program Coordinator - Rugby with on-field coaching.

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Demonstrate time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills and a capacity to develop a climate of trust and mutual respect with colleagues, students and parents
  • Demonstrate effective team management and high-level leadership skills
  • Smart Rugby course (2 years) and Season Ready (Coach) (Yearly) is mandatory
  • Junior Coach Accreditation is mandatory, Community Coach Accreditation desirable
  • First and CPR certificate mandatory
  • Minimum of 3 Years experience working with youth players from 12-18 years of age
  • Experience working with young adolescents ideally in a school environment
  • Experience coaching Rugby programs in schools, clubs or academy
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and a commitment to the Mission and Values of the College
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check and be committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety, welfare and well-being of children and young people
