St Thomas the Apostle School Blackburn is seeking to appoint a Literacy Intervention Teacher (0.4) and/or Classroom teacher (0.2) commencing Term 2, 2025 for a fixed term until the end of the school year.

<p>The successful applicant would be a valued member of the Junior team and be a real contributor to the life of our school and make a difference in the learning life of our students requiring support with literacy. The position maybe fullfilled by one or two people depending on the person/s availability and flexibility in hours. The Intervention role would ideally be spread over 3 days and the Classroom position is for one full day to release a staff member for their Position of Leadership.</p><p>The Literacy Intervention Teacher in summary is accountable for:</p><ul><li>teaching and supporting Literacy Intervention students identified through assessments and data.</li><li>monitoring and analysing the progress of the students.</li><li>communicating with relevant staff about the progress of the students.</li><li>supporting teachers with strategies to implement in the classroom to support the students learning.</li></ul><p>St Thomas the Apostle School is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care.</p><p><strong>Special Requirements </strong>-</p><ul><li>Current VIT registration</li><li>An understanding of and commitment to the Child Safety Standards in accordance with the Victorian Government&#39;s Ministerial Order No. 1379</li><li>An understanding of Intervention strategies that best support students would be beneficial.</li></ul>
