<p>The successful applicant would be a valued member of the Junior team and be a real contributor to the life of our school and make a difference in the learning life of our students requiring support with literacy. The position maybe fullfilled by one or two people depending on the person/s availability and flexibility in hours. The Intervention role would ideally be spread over 3 days and the Classroom position is for one full day to release a staff member for their Position of Leadership.</p> <p>The Literacy Intervention Teacher in summary is accountable for:</p> <ul> <li>teaching and supporting Literacy Intervention students identified through assessments and data.</li> <li>monitoring and analysing the progress of the students.</li> <li>communicating with relevant staff about the progress of the students.</li> <li>supporting teachers with strategies to implement in the classroom to support the students learning.</li> </ul> <p>St Thomas the Apostle School is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care.</p> <p><strong>Special Requirements </strong>-</p> <ul> <li>Current VIT registration</li> <li>An understanding of and commitment to the Child Safety Standards in accordance with the Victorian Government's Ministerial Order No. 1379</li> <li>An understanding of Intervention strategies that best support students would be beneficial.</li> </ul>
