Situated within moments of the CBD, International Grammar School (IGS) is Sydney's unique independent, coeducational, secular school offering quality teaching from Preschool to Year 12. Our unique bilingual program immerses students in a second language every day.

We are seeking an outstanding Vocal Tutor to join our great team of passionate music educators, within our well established studio, and with the opportunity to expand the role in the future. This role operates during Term Time and will commence as ONE day per week on either Wednesdays or Fridays in Term Two 2025, with hours to be determined.

Essential Criteria

• formal music and education qualifications at degree level
• experience teaching voice at various levels from Years 5 -12
• specialist skills in guiding the changing voice for adolescents
• demonstrated, high level of performance ability as a singer
• ability to work alongside a dynamic Choral team and building a co-educational culture of singing
• demonstrated success in teaching, and willingness to contribute to both individual lessons and ensemble programs
• flexibility to attend after hours events and concerts
• enthusiasm, punctuality, commitment and reliability, with ongoing availability during School terms
• enjoy the challenge of working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment to produce excellent learning experiences for young musicians;
• willingness to adopt Kodaly/Orff Schulwerk classroom methodologies into teaching practice
• demonstrated success in mentoring students for external examinations (ie AMEB, St Cecilia)
• Proven ability and experience in teaching in both individual and group teaching (10+ students)
• excellent communication and record keeping skills
• competent use of ICT to effectively prepare timetables, write reports, and communicate positively with parents
