About the role
Our school is looking for two enthusiastic and engaging HPE teachers to start in Term 1, 2025. The positions involve teaching students in the primary and secondary school. A passion for swimming, football and ability to teach modern dance is an advantage.
Applications for this role are welcomed from both primary and secondary trained teachers. Both experienced and graduate teachers will be considered.
An interest in working in remote Aboriginal education and a willingness to support the Catholic ethos of the school are important.
About the school
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Thamarrurr Catholic College is a remote Aboriginal school located in Wadeye 400 km South West of Darwin. The Kardu Diminin people are the traditional owners of the Wadeye country. There are over 20 clans from the surrounding Thamarrurr region residing in Wadeye and attending the school. The school operates a Family as First Teachers (FaFT) program, preschool, primary and secondary school. The majority of people in Wadeye speak Murrinhpatha as a first language. The school has been delivering bilingual education in Murrinhpatha and English for over 40 years.
