Applications are sought for the position of part-time fixed-term School Counselling for the period 1 July 2025 - 16 July 2026. This is a parental leave replacement position.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

This Education Support Employee position provide students and families at the College with appropriate support to cope with issues that impact their wellbeing. The School Counsellor is responsible to the Principal through the Vice Principal - Students, Vice Principals and Deputy Principals - Heads of Campus and the Counselling Services Team Leader. He/she will liaise with the Deputy Principals - Heads of Campus, House Coordinators, Homeroom Teachers, Subject Teachers and relevant College personnel regarding the most effective ways of dealing with students and their educational, emotional and social well-being.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The responsibilities of the School Counsellor include but are not limited to:

  1. Supporting the implementation of the Vision and Mission Statements of Padua College
  2. Collaborating with the College Pastoral Associate and Counselling Services Team Leader on matters of wellbeing for members of the College community
  3. Liaising with teaching staff concerning student wellbeing issues
  4. Supporting the College Pastoral Associate and College Pastoral Executive in formulating the College response to any College critical incident
  5. Being a representative on various College and external committees
  6. performing other duties and implementing decisions as requested by the Principal or the College Improvement Team.

SALARY REMUNERATION: According to the CEMEA 2022, $101,935.0 - $112,528.00 per annum (FTE), plus 11.5% superannuation.
