We are seeking applications from qualified Teachers, passionate about food literacy, sustainability and hands-on learning. This role works within our Early Years Team as a Specialist Teacher delivering the Patch to Plate Program.

This unique and dynamic role provides guidance for our young learners (Reception to Year 2) through an engaging journey of food production, nutrition, sustainability and cooking, from ‘patch to plate’. The Program integrates Science, Health and Design Technologies into an inspiring curriculum that brings the world of food and sustainability to life for students. This role will nurture curiosity, foster practical skills and build a love of learning for students, while emphasizing a faith-centred, values driven approach.

The role on offer is part time with an 18-lesson teaching load, generous non-contact and release time to effectively plan and deliver the program. Ideally the successful candidate would also have capacity to deliver a Middle School Food Technologies class however the school is willing to negotiate an appointment at 0.7 FTE - 0.8 FTE. The role is for commencement from Term 2 and is a fixed term for the remainder of the 2025 school year.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate the Patch to Plate Program across key learning areas.
  • Support each child’s personal growth, maintaining clear expectations and a culture of respect.

  • Proven ability to engage students effectively, guiding them in developing conceptual and perceptual ideas through design and inquiry processes.

  • Application of innovative teaching methodologies to support diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborative spirit to develop differentiated programs alongside fellow educators.

  • Strong communication skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues in a timely and effective manner.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Diploma of Teaching, Bachelor of Education, or higher.
  • Registration as a teacher in South Australia (or eligibility to register).
  • Relevant certifications, including RRHAN and WWCC.

Employment conditions are contained in the King's Baptist Grammar School current Enterprise Agreement.
