Student Wellbeing Officer: 0.26 FTE (11.5 hours per week) Term Time only Limited Tenure

 

Star of the Sea Catholic College is a co-education school with an enrolment of approximately 180 students from Kindergarten to Year 10, situated in George Town, Tasmania.

Applications are invited from enthusiastic and suitably qualified candidates for the following position:

Student Wellbeing Officer: 0.26 FTE 
(11.5 hours per week) Term Time only
Limited Tenure 
 

Days negotiable
Commencing March 2025 – 18 December 2026 

In this rewarding role, you will play a crucial part in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for our students. 

  • Providing individual counseling and support to students facing emotional, social, or behavioral challenges.
    Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external support services to ensure a comprehensive approach to student wellbeing.
  • Acting as a trusted mentor and advocate for students, championing their needs and ensuring their voices are heard.
  • Assist the Principal in the delivery of wellbeing and pastoral care services for students and members of the school community.
  • Assist students and staff to create an environment that promotes the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development and wellbeing of all students.

To be eligible applicants required to:

  • Be committed to the aims and philosophy of Catholic Education.
  • Be willing to participate fully in the life of the school.
  • Have appropriate graduate and/or post graduate qualifications.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2018.
