Scone Grammar School is looking for a full-time permanent PDHPE Class Teacher to commence as soon as possible. In this role, the ability to teach CrossFit, Stage 5 PASS (Physical Activity and Sport Studies), Stage 6 CAFS (Community and Family Studies and/or SLR (Sport, Lifestyle and Recreation) is advantageous but not essential.

Scone Grammar School (SGS) is an Anglican Co-Educational School for positive, flourishing learners from Preschool to Year 12. Based in the Upper Hunter, our Christian faith and values lay a safe, caring foundation.

Skills and Abilities:

  • An ability to deliver safe and engaging PDHPE lessons including up to Stage 6.
  • An ability to plan, prepare and deliver quality learning experiences.
  • Active listening skills and the ability to engage with and builds strong positive relationships with members of the school community including employees, students and parents.
  • An ability to create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment to engage and support diverse students.
  • Well-developed organisational skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to work well in a team, as well as the ability to work independently.
  • An ability to maintain student records and samples of work and report on student performance to students, parents and other stakeholders as required.
  • A willingness to participate in the collaborative development and evaluation of the curriculum and regularly monitor, through observation and evaluation, the effectiveness of the teaching program.
  • An ability to create dynamic and engaging programs that include a multitude of ICT opportunities for student learning.
  • A willingness to participate in co-curricular activities, school decision making processes and professional development.

Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in education.
  • A valid NSW Working with Children Check.
  • Commitment to the education and wellbeing of young people.
