Specific Criteria

• Highly effective, skilled classroom practitioner committed to the ethos of the Catholic School
• Have knowledge of and demonstrated experience teaching Biology Stage 6
• Experience in or desire to teach Extension Science
• Help create and embed an excellent school-wide learning culture that promotes high expectations and academic rigour
• Capacity to contribute to the school’s Continuous Improvement Cycle and is committed to student achievement
• Apply and embed evidence-based practices to inform teaching, learning, assessment, and programs
• Proven ability to apply sound pedagogical practices to create a motivating and engaging learning environment that caters to the needs of all learners
• Help build a culture of high-performing staff who showcase best practices in teaching and learning
• Ensure authentic relationships between staff, students and families to enhance partnerships that support student outcomes.
• Be involved in the extracurricular life of the college
• Willingness to contribute to the broader extracurricular aspects of school life as an active member of the school community
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic professional learning community
• Proficient in the use of technology to enhance student learning

Applicants who are not currently working in a Broken Bay systemic school must have a 4 year training qualification or be enrolled to undertake further study that will provide them with a four year trained qualification to be eligible to apply for any teaching position in the Diocese.

Position on COVID-19 vaccinations

Given the current management of risks associated with COVID-19 in the community, and the gradual wind-back of some settings, CSBB has decided to no longer require all staff to be fully vaccinated, effective 19 September 2022.
