<p><strong><u>This is an identified position for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.</u></strong></p><p>Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1997.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Adelaide Contemporary Experimental (ACE)</strong><br /><br />Located in Adelaide’s iconic Lion Arts Centre precinct, Adelaide Contemporary Experimental (ACE) is South Australia’s leading independent contemporary arts organisation, proudly supporting artists to imagine, develop and showcase art on Kaurna Yarta (Kaurna Country).<br /><br />Established through the merger of the Contemporary Art Centre of South Australia (CACSA) and the Australian Experimental Art Foundation (AEAF) in 2017, ACE builds upon the legacy of over 100 years of leading experimental arts activity in South Australia. <br /><br />Through exhibitions, studios, live programs, education and professional development opportunities, ACE is a space for artists and audiences to explore, reflect on and connect with contemporary and experimental art.<br /><br /><strong>Our Purpose</strong><br /><br />To lead contemporary and experimental art practice in South Australia, nationally and internationally, via:</p><ul><li>Artistic programming that is adventurous, outward-looking, informed and connected</li><li>Enabling artists to expand and explore their thinking and practice</li><li>Making space for audiences and communities to learn from, grow through and be engaged with contemporary and experimental art</li></ul><p><strong>Your role</strong><br /><br />We’re looking for someone who will harness their cultural expertise, knowledge and experience of the visual arts sector, knowledge of SACE and the Australian Curriculum, professional networks, and program management skills to drive the development, sustainability, and delivery of our education and studio programs.<br /><br />In this role, you will be at the forefront of engaging and educating our audiences to ensure we meet our purpose of making space for audiences and communities to learn from, grow through and be engaged with contemporary and experimental art. <br /><br />You will also be responsible for the delivery of ACE’s long and short term studio residency programs, working with a range of program partners and stakeholders, and supporting artists throughout their residencies. A key focus of the role will be the continued development and delivery of the Future Studios program which is delivered in partnership with the Department for Education and which provides vital arts career experience to First Nations secondary school students. This key education and pathways program was piloted in 2024 and you will oversee its continued growth and sustainability. Your deep understanding of First Nations culture and sensitivity to the cultural needs of Aboriginals communities will be invaluable as you collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders to bring this program to life.</p><p> </p><p><strong>What this means for you</strong></p><ul><li>0.8FTE opportunity</li><li>Salary of $70,000 - $75,000 FTE per annum + superannuation</li><li>Ceremonial, NAIDOC and cultural leave</li><li>Office location: Adelaide CBD</li></ul><p><strong>What’s next</strong><br /><br />This position has been identified as a genuine occupational qualification under the Anti-discrimination Act 1997, making it exclusively available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
