<p>Faith Lutheran College is an independent co-educational school located in Plainland, Queensland, just west of Brisbane. Established in 1999, the College was founded by the Lutheran Church with the aim of providing a faith-based, high-quality education to students in the Lockyer Valley region. Currently offering education to secondary students in Years 7-12, Faith Lutheran College Plainland is about to embark on an exciting new chapter with the first years of its Primary School commencing from 2027. A vibrant and dynamic learning community, the College maintains a strong Christian ethos, with a vision of awakening potential and empowering learners for purposeful lives through Christ. </p><p>The Chief Operating Officer is an integral member of the Executive Team. Reporting to the Principal and through to the College Council, the primary purpose of the role is to provide strategic and operational business and financial leadership for the day-to-day administration of the College. In consultation with the Principal, College Council and Executive Team, the Chief Operating Officer will provide strong strategic leadership and effective management by leading a capable team to develop a resourceful, cohesive, financially robust, well respected and effective school which reflects the ethos, values and vision of Faith Lutheran College. The Chief Operating Officer will have outstanding interpersonal skills, governance experience, project management expertise, and astute business and financial acumen, and is instrumental in providing both leadership and support to enact and deliver a truly contemporary and modern education. </p><p>Key Selection Criteria:</p><ul><li>Executive experience, ideally in a school environment, overseeing financial, commercial and business operational matters and reporting to a Board or Council.</li><li>Knowledge and experience in strategic financial management, budget formation, financial monitoring and financial control.</li><li>Strong risk management experience and understanding of the legal and compliance requirements within a school entity.</li><li>Extensive project management skills with experience in capital works, IT projects, and management of property and facilities, including the analysis of costs and preparation of business cases. </li><li>Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to lead and motivate teams, mentor and manage staff, and build professional stakeholder relationships both internally and externally.</li><li>A commitment to the vision and values of Faith Lutheran College and support of the Lutheran ethos.</li></ul><p><strong>Faith Lutheran College</strong> has zero tolerance for child abuse and is committed to providing a child safe environment where children and young people are safe and feel safe, as outlined in the Child Protection Policy.</p>
