Applications are invited from dynamic educators for the position of Science Coordinator. The preferred candidate will be enthusiastic, keen to engage and inspire our students, and able to deliver a curriculum that caters to students with different learning styles.

This full-time, permanent role is scheduled to commence on Friday, 14 February 2025 (negotiable). The Science Coordinator 2 position is a 2-point promotional role, temporary for up to 3 years, however your teaching position will be full-time and permanent.

About You

As a Science Coordinator 2, you work to ensure every student reaches their full potential through high quality, collaborative and engaging pedagogy.

To excel in this role, you will:

  • demonstrate commitment to Catholic Education and have a clear understanding of the ethos of Catholic Schools
  • support the inclusive Catholic religious and cultural environment for students
  • have the secondary qualifications and experience in teaching Stage 4-6 Science course
  • show experience in leading a Key Learning Area or Cohort (desirable)
  • be an experienced, enthusiastic, highly effective, innovative and motivated educator and leader with a passion for leading learning and teaching
  • have the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team, build upon its collective efficacy, and develop and lead its strategic agenda
  • have experience with programming and assessment design, reporting, feedback and data analysis
  • have effectively used data and evidence-based approaches to foster school improvement
  • be enthusiastic, keen to engage and inspire our students and staff, and be able to effectively lead our students and staff
  • possess a sound knowledge of the NSW Science curriculum and the requirements of the NSW Education Standards Authority and the ability to lead others in the implementation and use of all relevant NESA, SCS and school policies and procedures
  • have proven ability to differentiate instruction, cater for the diverse needs of learners and personalise learning for students from Year 7 to Year 12
  • be able to assess for learning, as learning and of learning and integrate effective feedback in student learning
  • be highly collaborative, relational and able to build the collective and individual capacity of the Science team
  • show effective use of data and evidence-based approaches to foster school improvement
  • have exemplary classroom practice, utilising a range of effective contemporary pedagogies
  • commit to growing the College's culture of learning and thinking
  • utilise formative and summative assessments to drive student progress
  • employ a data-informed approach to setting challenging learning objectives and providing constructive feedback
  • support the inclusive Catholic religious and cultural environment for students
  • demonstrate excellent classroom management skills focused on student well-being
  • integrate technology to enhance contemporary learning experiences.

You will have attained:

  • a tertiary qualification in Education
  • eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
