<p><strong>Employment type:</strong>&nbsp;Casual<br><strong>Location:</strong>&nbsp;ACT &amp; NSW Primary and Secondary Schools and ACT Early Learning Centres<br><strong>Categories:&nbsp;</strong>Teacher Primary, Teacher Secondary, Preschool Teacher<br><strong>Remuneration Range:</strong>&nbsp;ACT&nbsp;$375.01 to $548.95 per day, NSW $397.00 to $548.95 per day (Salary is determined based on years of teaching service.)<br><strong>Closing Date:</strong>&nbsp;30 November 2025</p><p><strong>About Us</strong></p><p>Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CECG), plays an integral role in education in the ACT and NSW, operating 56 Catholic Systemic Schools and nine Early Learning Centres.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>About Casual Teaching</strong></p><p>Casual Teachers play an important role in supporting students when their teacher is unavailable, or a school requires additional staffing. Casual Teachers support a learning environment that stimulates learning, promotes excellence and accepts and acknowledges the needs of students to be both challenged and supported.</p><p>Once casual employees are approved to work nominate their schools of preference and availability through our simple-to-use Casual Relief System (CRS). Casual employees may be called upon, on an as-needed basis by Catholic Schools within the Archdiocese of Canberra Goulburn. Casual work can vary from between three hours to several weeks at a single school, college, or early learning centre.</p><p><strong>Benefits of Casual Teaching</strong></p><ul><li>Schedule work around your ongoing study and personal commitments.</li><li>Experience a diverse range of school environments and classroom settings.</li><li>Build your profile within a network of schools to advance your opportunity of securing ongoing employment.</li><li>Nominate the schools, year levels and subjects you wish to teach (as aligned with your qualification).</li></ul><p><strong>Who can apply?</strong></p><ul><li>Qualified teachers.</li><li>Pre-service teachers who are in the final semester of their accredited Initial Teacher Education (ITE) program and have completed all required professional experience placements.</li></ul><p><strong>Selection Criteria</strong></p><ol><li>Thorough knowledge of the Australian Curriculum with the ability to organise, select and design content for effective teaching and learning.</li><li>Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage positively with colleagues, students, and parents.</li><li>Capacity to be a proactive member of a professional learning community complying with the legal, administrative, and professional requirements.</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of classroom practices and organisational skills that create supportive and safe environments for all students, including meeting a variety of learning needs.</li><li>Comprehensive understanding of assessment and reporting strategies.</li></ol><p><strong>Permit to Teach (TQI)</strong></p><p>Upon recommendation for approval as a Casual Teacher, CECG will request a Permit to Teach with the Teacher Quality Institute for Pre-service Teachers.
