<p><strong>Location:</strong> St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park</p><p>St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park is located near the junction of the M5 and M7 motorways. It is a rapidly growing K-12 school with a student population exceeding 1580 students in 2025. The college is one school, not a traditional primary school and high school coexisting on the same site.&nbsp; As such, the College is organised into Junior Years Learning (K-4), Middle Years Learning (5-8), and Senior Years Learning (9-12).&nbsp; St Francis is finalising its 7th Stage of Building Development and offers state-of-the-art learning &amp; specialist KLA facilities.</p><p>A temporary part time position (working 2 days per week) commencing 10 February 2025 (start date negotiable) until 19 December 2025.&nbsp; Working with teachers and the Science Lab Technician, the successful applicant will be required to assist and perform a broad range of administration/support functions within the Science department, whilst also contributing to the practical elements of the Science Curriculum.</p><p>ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA</p><ul><li>Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.</li><li>Experience in working in a School Laboratory.</li><li>Knowledge and experience in the Safe handling and storage of Chemicals.</li><li>Experience in utilising digital systems for the management and storage of chemicals.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively autonomously, as well as part of a team.</li><li>Strong planning and organisation skills.</li><li>Ability to maintain the quality of assigned work when preparing practical work for use in the classroom, including general and complex laboratory assignments.</li><li>The ability to maintain the school laboratory and preparation room in a clean and workable order.</li><li>Sound knowledge of general scientific equipment and ability to maintain the equipment.</li><li>Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers, and the wider school community.</li></ul><p>DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA</p><ul><li>Familiarity with RiskAssess and Chemwatch.</li><li>Current First Aid Certificate.</li></ul><p>GENERAL CAPABILITIES</p><ul><li>Well-developed interpersonal skills.</li><li>Well-developed oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Strong organisational skills.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.</li></ul><p>QUALIFICATIONS</p><ul><li>Certificate III in Laboratory Skills or equivalent.</li><li>Level A Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach, and Lead policy or a commitment to gain the appropriate level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.</li></ul><p>WORKING WITH CHILDREN'S CLEARANCE</p><p>This role is classified as child-related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.</p><p>POSITION APPLICATION&nbsp;</p><p>Applicants are to complete an online application that asks to briefly address the essential criteria (equivalent to 2-3 pages) and submit a short CV (2-3 pages).</p><p>To submit your application please select the 'Apply Now' button at the bottom of this advertisement.</p><p><strong>Closing date: 5 February 2025 at 3pm</strong></p>
