It is an exciting time to join St Joseph’s as we are experiencing a period of substantial growth. We are looking for a part time Kitchen Support Worker at the Sunshine Campus. You will be employed on an ongoing basis, commencing Term 1 2025, and will be employed under the Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2022.
<p><strong>Kitchen Support Worker </strong></p><p>In 2025, the newly named Saints College – Sunshine Campus (formerly St Joseph’s School) is seeking experienced Teachers to join our school community. </p><p>Since 2012, we have led the way in radically inclusive education, supporting students with diverse challenges. We are an inclusive school for 12–25-year-olds seeking an alternative to mainstream education. Our environment celebrates all abilities and backgrounds, providing transformative learning experiences catering to individual needs. </p><p>We operate multiple campuses located in Melbourne, Geelong, Colac, Ballarat, and a dual engagement virtual learning campus, BlendED. In 2025, we will expand our offerings with the opening of three new campuses in Fitzroy North, Sunshine, and Bungaree, as part of our growth strategy. </p><p>The young people we serve often face significant and complex educational, social, developmental, psychological, health, legal, or familial challenges, which demand unique interventions. Each class has a teacher and youth worker who operate as a partnership. Our approach is grounded in the Operation by Principles framework, which combines education with an understanding of trauma-informed practices. </p><p><strong>About the Sunshine Campus</strong> </p><p>Saints College – Sunshine Campus (formerly St Joseph’s School) offers personalised learning tailored to each young person’s unique needs and circumstances. Opening in 2025, the campus provides a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where young people can focus on their education, with integrated wellbeing support to help overcome any barriers to learning. With an anticipated enrolment of up to 50 young people, the campus will focus on senior secondary, including the VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM) and Pre VCE VM. </p><p>Based at the Visy Cares Hub, the Sunshine Campus offers a safe, supportive, and inclusive space where young people can focus on their education and access the support services they may require. </p><p>Saints aims to work in partnership with other essential services at the Hub for at-risk young people, with the aim to increasing connections and support for vulnerable young people and families, not just in education but with other important services and organisations. </p><p><strong>The Role:</strong> </p><ul><li>We are looking for a part-time Kitchen Support Worker to join our team, based at the Sunshine Campus. </li><li>You will be employed as a Category B School Services Officer who normally works during the school term time only and is entitled to non - term weeks without loss of pay. Annual leave will be deemed to have been taken during non-term weeks. </li><li>You will be employed on an ongoing basis, commencing Term 1, 2025 and will be employed under the Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2022. </li></ul><p> <strong>You will need:</strong> </p><ul><li>Ability to commit to and work within our Operating Principles; <strong>Respect, Participation, Safe and Legal and Honesty</strong>. </li><li>Come complete with previous experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. </li><li>Possess a current Hygiene for Food Handler’s Certificate. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to successfully communicate with a range of people. </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to contributing to a positive team environment. </li><li>Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check and provide a National Police Check certificate (issued within the last six months) </li></ul><p>Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People are encouraged to apply, we are an Equal Opportunity Employer and value diversity. </p><p><strong>To Apply:</strong> </p><p>Please visit our website, learn about our work, and review the position information in Employment Opportunities at www.stjosephs.vic.edu.au/careers.
