Cranbrook School is seeking an innovative and dynamic Music Teacher to join our Senior School team, to teach classroom music and coordinate our contemporary programme.

<p><strong>ABOUT THE POSITION</strong></p><p>The Coordinator of Contemporary Music is responsible for coordinating and leading co-curricular contemporary ensemble rehearsals, coordinating studio activities and supporting live concert activities. They take an active and enthusiastic part in the full life of the School, including involvement in the School’s co-curricular program requiring work outside normal teaching hours.</p><p><strong>ABOUT YOU</strong></p><p>Possessing formal music qualifications and NESA accreditation to teach, you have a track record of developing high performing young musicians, the skills and confidence to manage student behaviour and a demonstrated ability to both inspire young people to find their passion in music and motivate students at differing levels of ability.</p><p>You are willing to work outside of regular school hours for performances and events and prepared to contribute to all aspects of School life.</p><p>You are dynamic, innovative and creative in your approach to teaching, a dedicated practitioner and display outstanding musicianship. You are enthusiastic, capable of working collaboratively within a dynamic music team, display excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to build authentic relationships with students, parents and colleagues. </p><p><strong>SELECTION CRITERIA</strong></p><ul><li>NESA accreditation to teach in New South Wales</li><li>Sound knowledge and understanding of the NSW Curriculum and current teaching and learning theory and practice</li><li>Extensive experience in directing contemporary music ensembles at all levels</li><li>Demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience of sound recording in a variety of settings, both live and studio</li><li>Capacity to create a motivating and engaging learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all learners </li><li>Creative mindset and ability to design interactive and dynamic lessons</li><li>Organisational skills to manage schedules, events and student records</li><li>Passion for music education and a commitment to fostering a love for music in students</li><li>Organisational skills to manage schedules, events and student records</li><li>Passion for languages and a commitment to fostering a love of languages in students</li><li>A level of mobility that supports the ability to respond to a first aid / behavioural incident</li><li>Current First Aid and CPR qualifications </li><li>A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children </li><li>A demonstrated understanding of child safety and appropriate behaviours when engaging with children.</li></ul><p>Experience with the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme or Diploma Programme would be advantageous.</p><p><strong>CLOSING DATE: Friday 31 January 2025</strong></p><p><strong>HOW TO APPLY</strong></p><p>Applications should include a resume and a cover letter addressing the selection criteria and reasons for your interest in the position.
