<p><strong>Location: </strong>Within schools, CBD and WFH<br><strong>Commencement Date:</strong> Immediate start or by negotiation<br><strong>Closing Date: </strong>Tuesday, 28 January 2025<br><strong>Capacity:</strong> Full-time, temporary (up to 3 years)<br><br><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>Reporting to the Supervisor: K-12 Curriculum and Post School Pathways, the <strong>Education Officer: Post School Pathways </strong>assists and supports students with disabilities and their families determine pathways to work or further training/education options post-secondary school. You will work closely with schools across the networks in the archdiocese.</p><p>Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:</p><ul><li>understanding and applying NESA syllabus requirements K-12 with particular emphasis on Stages 5 and 6 including Life Skills courses and Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses to support students into appropriate work or learning pathways</li><li>utilising NCCD data and other diagnostics to comprehensively assess student capabilities and competencies to determine appropriate post school options</li><li>liaising with secondary principals, curriculum coordinators and diverse learning teams in schools in order to collaborate and advise on the adjustments required for students engaging in a Life Skills program of study</li><li>maintaining accurate and concise records of collaborative meetings and reporting on the impact of this collaboration as required</li><li>contributing to the implementation of all NCCD processes, including professional learning, data analysis, moderation and other duties as required</li><li>facilitating a range of professional learning opportunities at school, network and system levels</li><li>implementing advice and direction from leaders to achieve desired outcomes</li><li>coordinating and engaging with students, their families and a range of stakeholders during a period of significant transition</li><li>contributing to the work of the entire Diverse Learning team</li><li>any other duties from time to time.</li></ul><p><strong>About You</strong></p><p>To be successful in this position, you must possess:</p><ul><li>a university degree in Education or teaching</li><li>a NESA recognised teaching qualification</li><li>the ability to demonstrate practice equivalent to Highly Accomplished or Lead level of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers</li><li>a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience supporting students with disability in secondary school settings</li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of NESA Stage 5 and 6 syllabus requirements, VET pathways, Life Skills courses and credentialing procedures for students with disability</li><li>experience in leading staff in professional learning</li><li>demonstrated success in improving student outcomes and implementing school wide initiatives</li><li>a current drivers licence and access to a vehicle.</li></ul><p>Desirable:</p><ul><li>postgraduate degree in Special Education</li><li>five years middle leadership experience in a school</li><li>knowledge of the Catholic Systemic Schools/Systems.</li></ul><p><strong>Why Work for Sydney Catholic Schools</strong><br><br>In joining <a href="https://sydcatholicschools.nsw.edu.au/"><u>Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS)</u></a>, you will be part of the largest Catholic education community in NSW, with a unified vision and shared resources, encompassing over 145 schools and over 74,000 students.
