<p><strong>Location: </strong>Within schools, CBD and WFH<br><strong>Commencement Date:</strong> Immediate start or by negotiation<br><strong>Closing Date: </strong>Wednesday, 22 January 2025<br><strong>Capacity:</strong> Full-time, 12-month contract</p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>The Network Diverse Learning Officer focuses on coordinating a system of support to improve outcomes for students K-12 with diverse learning needs across Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) school networks.</p><p>Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:</p><ul><li>ensuring all NCCD processes are central to the work of the team and are seen as integral informants to all planning, implementation, consultation and review processes</li><li>offering expert advice to Principals and teachers in crafting targeted adjustments to support students with disability to engage in learning, achieve learning gain and functional independence</li><li>leading the planning and implementation of teacher and Learning Support Officer capacity-building strategies and evaluating the impact of such initiatives</li><li>facilitating the delivery of blended professional learning modules across the breadth of disability</li><li>contributing to a contemporary approach to diverse learning needs support across SCS, utilising a range of assistive technologies</li><li>participating in team professional development focused on NESA syllabus requirements K-12 and contributing to skilling team members to respond to a range of disability needs across cognitive, sensory, physical, social and emotional disability</li><li>contributing to a pedagogical design framework built on a neuroscientific platform, inclusive of research-informed educational theories, based on K-12 curriculum and incorporating contemporary instructional and assessment strategies</li><li>expanding students' educational opportunities and functional independence K-12</li><li>supporting Principals, school leaders and teachers in understanding statistical analysis utilising school and network performance data, demographics, and other key information to prepare reports on student outcomes.</li></ul><p><strong>About You</strong></p><p>To be successful in this position, you must possess:</p><ul><li>a university Degree in Education or Teaching</li><li>a minimum of five years of teaching experience in a school</li><li>a NESA recognised teaching qualification</li><li>the ability to demonstrate practice equivalent to Highly Accomplished or Lead level of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers</li><li>experience in leading staff in professional learning</li><li>demonstrated success in improving student outcomes and implementing school-wide initiatives</li><li>experience in using data analysis to inform educational decisions</li><li>the ability to articulate contemporary educational trends in both local and international contexts</li><li>a current driver's licence and access to a car</li><li>demonstrated high-level written, oral and presentation skills</li><li>demonstrated ability to work with sensitive and confidential information</li><li>a willingness to respect, support, and uphold the mission, ethos, and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of SCS.</li></ul><p>Desirable:</p><ul><li>postgraduate degree in Inclusive Education or another relevant discipline</li><li>three years of middle leadership experience in a school</li><li>knowledge of the Catholic Systemic Schools/Systems.</li></ul><p><strong>Why Work for Sydney Catholic Schools</strong></p><p>In joining <a href="https://sydcatholicschools.nsw.edu.au/"><u>Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS)</u></a>, you will be part of the largest Catholic education community in NSW, with a unified vision and shared resources, encompassing over 145 schools and over 74,000 students.
