Cranbrook School is seeking an experienced Director of Marketing & Communications, based at our Senior School campus in Bellevue Hill and reporting to the Head of School.
<p><strong>ABOUT THE POSITION</strong></p><p>The Director of Marketing & Communications is responsible for the marketing and communication function of the School. This involves strategic communications planning, building and managing a calendar of communication activities, marketing the School through paid and unpaid channels, liaising with internal stakeholders on communication activities, and managing delivery of these activities by the team. </p><p>Duties include:</p><ul><li>Develop an overarching strategic approach to communications in line with the Mission and Vision of Cranbrook School, and the School’s strategic plan</li><li>Work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to understand and support communication needs</li><li>Proactively and collaboratively build, manage and communicate an annual School-wide calendar of events, communications and marketing activities</li><li>Anticipate required resources for activities and manage in line with the resources and budget available</li><li>Liaise with stakeholders on an ongoing basis, responding to changes in requirements, and monitoring satisfaction with team activity</li><li>Manage team members, as well as status and quality of deliverables, to ensure effective use of resources and timely delivery of required outputs</li><li>Champion the importance of the Cranbrook brand and the role of effective communication where appropriate across the School.</li></ul><p><strong>ABOUT YOU</strong></p><p>You are an enthusiastic, motivated senior communications, marketing or public relations professional, with experience in managing a team and budgets. You are professional, and possess exceptional interpersonal skills. With a demonstrated customer service-based approach in all interactions, you engage and collaborate to deliver exceptional support and service to all stakeholders in a co-operative and collegiate manner.</p><p><strong>SELECTION CRITERIA</strong></p><ul><li>A minimum five years’ experience in a senior communications, marketing, or public relations role or similar</li><li>Tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, PR, corporate affairs or similar </li><li>Demonstrated ability to develop and manage relationships with internal and external clients, and to deliver communication and marketing outcomes to meet their needs</li><li>Demonstrated ability to engage co-operatively, collaborate and manage needs and expectations of diverse and complex stakeholders</li><li>Demonstrated ability to effectively manage others to deliver a calendar of activity</li><li>Experience planning and executing strategic communications activities and promotional marketing campaigns</li><li>Experience in cost effective budget management</li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills </li><li>Exceptional relationship skills with the ability to work inclusively, co-operatively and respectfully with a broad range of people</li><li>High level organisational and time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure</li><li>A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and a demonstrated understanding of child safety and appropriate behaviours when engaging with children.</li></ul><p><strong>CLOSING DATE: 14 February 2025</strong></p><p><strong>HOW TO APPLY</strong></p><p>Applications should include a resume and a cover letter addressing the selection criteria and reasons for your interest in the position.
