Marist College Canberra is looking for a person with excellent administration skills to join the Staff Office to provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Manager. The successful candidate will enjoy working with people, have a practical nature, and appreciate that small details matter. This is a full time and ongoing position, available for immediate commencement.

<p><strong>Human Resources Officer </strong></p><p>The Human Resources Officer role is ultimately to provide administrative and operational support to the Assistant Head of School – Staff and Community via the Human Resources Manager and become part of the ‘Staff Office’. The person in this role needs to work independently and show initiative and resourcefulness to support the staff and community across the College. The Human Resources Officer will demonstrate an active support of the College’s aims, objectives and policies.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities </strong></p><p>The Human Resources Officer is expected to:</p><ul><li>Provide high-level administrative, clerical and practical support to the Human Resources Manager and the Assistant Head of School – Staff and Community.</li><li>Contribute to continuous improvement in the HR staff office, manage competing priorities and meet multiple deadlines.</li><li>Cultivate positive, collaborative relationships with all members of staff and treat all people with courtesy and understanding.</li><li>Prepare, distribute and securely file correct and proper administrative employment records on behalf of the College. </li><li>Have a strong understanding of the need for confidentiality and discretion in the handling of confidential and sensitive information, using diplomacy and integrity at all times when dealing with sensitive issues with staff and community members.</li><li>Have, or be willing to develop, an understanding of and value of Marist spirituality and an ability to impart it to others.</li><li>Undertake professional development as required.</li><li>Be capable of working autonomously and collaboratively in order to meet the demands of the role.</li><li>Undertake other duties as directed by the Headmaster or AHS Staff and Community.</li></ul><p>Please refer to the Position Description (<a href="https://media.digistormhosting.com.au/mcc-au-act-102-staging/documents/College-Life/Human-Resources-Officer-2025.pdf?v&#61;1734561637" rel="nofollow"><u>Human Resources Officer</u></a>) for full details.</p><p>Applications close <strong>12pm, Friday 24 January 2025.</strong></p>
