<p><strong>Location: </strong>Within schools, CBD and WFH<br /><strong>Commencement Date: </strong>January 2025<br /><strong>Closing Date:</strong> Thursday, 12 December 2024<br /><strong>Capacity:</strong> Full-time, 2-year contract</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">Reporting to the Supervisor: Student Wellbeing, the Education Officer: School-Wide Positive Behaviour for Learning (SPBL) is responsible for providing specialist advice, assistance and operational support to schools within the Archdiocese of Sydney in supporting the implementation of the SPBL Framework, an evidence based, whole school approach that promotes a safe, supportive and orderly environment that is conducive to learning.</p> <p dir="ltr">Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">exercising leadership through support, advice and professional development for members of school leadership teams and teachers using a coaching/mentoring model</li> <li dir="ltr">planning and delivering professional development for schools at various stages of implementation of the SPBL Framework</li> <li dir="ltr">supporting schools in improving educational outcomes of students by facilitating and supporting the training, planning and effective implementation of SPBL at the school level</li> <li dir="ltr">collaborating with school SPBL Teams in monitoring and reviewing the ongoing effectiveness of the structures and plans implemented to achieve positive student wellbeing outcomes</li> <li dir="ltr">supporting schools to create and maintain systems for collecting implementation fidelity and student outcome data that can be used for problem solving and action planning</li> <li dir="ltr">supporting individual schools in developing comprehensive systems to support student social emotional behavioural development</li> <li dir="ltr">promoting a range of resources and instructional responses for problem behaviour and assisting school SPBL teams in correctly delivering tiered strategies for students who need them</li> <li dir="ltr">promoting mechanisms for the identification of students at risk and those with wellbeing issues and supporting schools in establishing appropriate tiered systems of support</li> <li dir="ltr">developing mechanisms to build internal school capacity to create professional development that is aligned with needs identified through review of data</li> <li dir="ltr">expanding personnel knowledge, expertise, and use of evidence based practices to convey the expectation that student social behaviour will be addressed in the same manner as student academic learning and outcomes</li> <li dir="ltr">liaising with schools to ensure the fidelity of adherence to the framework</li> <li dir="ltr">any other duties as directed from time to time.</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>About You</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">We are seeking a compassionate, motivated and professional candidate with the following experience, skills and knowledge:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">a tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Education or Teaching</li> <li dir="ltr">demonstrated five years minimum experience in any of the above disciplines</li> <li dir="ltr">experienced in leading staff in professional learning</li> <li dir="ltr">demonstrated experience in using data analysis to inform educational initiatives</li> <li dir="ltr">demonstrated ability to articulate contemporary trends in student, child, and adolescent wellbeing in local and international contexts</li> <li dir="ltr">demonstrated high-level written, oral and presentation skills</li> <li dir="ltr">demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team</li> <li dir="ltr">a current driver's licence</li> <li dir="ltr">willingness to respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Sydney Catholic Schools.</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">Desirable:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">postgraduate degree in Education or another discipline</li> <li dir="ltr">experience in a school</li> <li dir="ltr">a broad understanding of the national and international implementation of SPBL</li> <li dir="ltr">a baptised Catholic with demonstrated evidence of ongoing commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church and engagement in the life of a Catholic faith community.</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Why Work for Sydney Catholic Schools</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">In joining Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS), you will be part of the largest Catholic education community in NSW.
