St Ambrose School is seeking to employ a dynamic Auslan teacher as a specialist role for 2 days a week.

<p>St. Ambrose Parish School is a welcoming school that works in partnership with families to provide an excellent education in a faith-filled community. We want to complement our Languages program with a teacher that can lead and inspire our students to become proficient in Auslan while building our student&#39;s confidence and self-esteem. This position could also be an ongoing position. We have 10 classes, F- 6, that would each participate in a lesson once a week. (The days can be negotiated with the successful applicant)</p><p>Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the part-time position of Auslan teacher to commence on 27th January 2025.</p><p>The successful applicant will have a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of children.</p><p>As a member of staff, the Auslan teacher is responsible for developing respectful, collaborative relationships with students, staff, and parents, to contribute to positive school culture.</p><p>The Auslan teacher will enact the Child Safe Policy, ensuring all students are safe and abide by the MACS Code of Conduct for staff. (attached)</p><p><strong>Key Selection Criteria:</strong></p><ul><li>Provide a diverse and engaging Auslan program.</li><li>Be able to work as a team with staff</li><li>Proactively monitor, support, and address issues of student wellbeing.</li><li>Report and provide feedback to students about their learning.</li><li>Contribute actively to a positive team culture.</li><li>Provide students with a rich and rewarding educational experience.</li><li>To deliver engaging lessons using modern pedagogy and best practice.</li><li>Ensure the Auslan is showcased to the broader school community. </li><li>Be committed to life long learning and upholding the schools vision.</li><li>Promote and support our school improvement plan.</li></ul><p>The successful candidate will be appropriately qualified, demonstrate enthusiasm and ability to deliver the appropriate curriculum to a range of educational abilities, and be able to provide care and support for students whilst supporting and respecting the ethos of the school and its environment.
