<p dir="ltr">You will be joining our innovative Diverse Learning department in this part-time (0.8FTE), temporary position (days to be negotiated once timetable finalised). As a <strong>Learning Support Teacher</strong>, you work to ensure every student reaches their full potential through high-quality, collaborative and engaging pedagogy.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Selection criteria:</p>
<ul>
<li>ability to work across the Years (7-12) to devise appropriate support programs for individual students</li>
<li>create and maintain an effective partnership with families and carers to support and improve students' achievement and personal development</li>
<li>mentor and coach teachers to make appropriate adjustments or interventions for students at the point of need</li>
<li>coordinate the personalised planning process and collaborate with teachers and stakeholders on developing personalised plans for students</li>
<li>demonstrate knowledge of the administrative requirements pertaining to National Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) and NESA Disability Provisions</li>
<li>collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders to respond to the needs of students</li>
<li>collaborate with teachers and Learning Support Officers to provide educational support for identified students</li>
<li>support teachers in the creation and implementation of engaging, rigorous planned learning experiences catering to the diverse needs of students</li>
<li>commit to Catholic Education and a clear understanding of the ethos of Catholic Schools.</li>
</ul>
<p dir="ltr">To excel in this role you will possess:</p>
<ul>
<li>relevant Learning Support /Special Needs qualification or recent work experience (would be beneficial but not essential)</li>
<li>a sound understanding of the Disability Discrimination Act and the Disability Standards for Education</li>
<li>working knowledge of the NCCD Framework and Personalised Learning Plan process</li>
<li>demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with families, students and colleagues including the use of appropriate interpersonal skills</li>
<li>demonstrated organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail</li>
<li>supportive of College aims, initiatives, policies and practices</li>
<li>excellent administration, organisation and interpersonal skills.</li>
</ul>
<p dir="ltr">You will have attained:</p>
<ul>
<li>a tertiary qualification in Education</li>
<li>eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)</li>
<li>Religious Education qualifications or the willingness to achieve them as per<a href="https://sydcatholicschools.nsw.edu.au/policies/accreditation-policy-to-work-teach-and-lead-in-sydney-catholic-schools"> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Accreditation Policy to Work, Teach, and Lead</span></a>.</li>
