Redfield College currently has an exciting full time permanent opportunity for a suitably qualified Secondary Music Teacher, commencing in Term 1, 2025.

<p>Redfield College is an independent Catholic boys’ school (Year 2 to Year 12) teaching the Catholic faith with a unique, personalised education program.  Located in Dural, north­west of Sydney, the College was founded in 1986 by the Pared Foundation on the principle that parents are the primary educators and that schools exist to offer parents every support. Redfield College places importance on the development of virtues seen as good habits and helps develop these virtues so students are better able to make the right choices in life.</p><p>Redfield currently has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified<strong> Secondary Music Teacher.  </strong>Commencing in Term 1, 2025, the successful incumbent will be required to provide<strong> </strong>professional teaching and learning across its Secondary School whilst ensuring a positive experience for students and teachers alike.</p><p><strong>Joining a dedicated, professional, and collaborative team, you will be responsible for:</strong></p><ul><li>Teaching Music across the Secondary school (7-12) </li><li>Participate in the College’s co-curricular program by leading the choir(s) and/or band(s) as directed by the Head of Music.</li><li>Provide ongoing administrative support for the music program</li><li>Support students through various musical rehearsals</li><li>Assist with various musical events held throughout the year as advised by the Head of Music and School Executive </li><li>Attend School Assemblies and assist with musical tasks, as required</li></ul><p><strong>You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:</strong></p><ul><li>Qualifications and prior experience teaching music across Years 7 to 12. </li><li>A high level of expertise in own instrument/voice specialisation. </li><li>A strong knowledge and understanding of the Music syllabus. </li><li>An ability to meaningfully engage children in rich and diverse activities which build musical knowledge, ability and creativity. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to engage students in their learning and to integrate technology into the classroom. </li><li>Capacity to differentiate the curriculum to meet the needs of a diverse range of students. </li><li>An understanding of student management strategies which would support the school’s focus on positive behaviour management. </li><li>A meaningful enthusiasm for working in a dynamic and collaborative learning environment. </li><li>A commitment to ongoing evaluation and improvement. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to lead music ensembles to produce high quality performances. </li><li>Organisational and communication skills and the ability to engage positively with all stakeholders including parents, students and staff. </li><li>Understanding of, and support for the vision, mission, values and ethos of the School. </li></ul><p><strong>DESIRABLE SKILLS </strong></p><ul><li>Knowledge of a variety of instruments, including piano, and willingness to participate in the development and support of the College’s practical Music program.</li></ul>
