<p><strong>Teacher - St Mary's Flexible School</strong></p><p><strong>ABOUT THE ORGANISATION</strong><br />St Mary's Flexible School is a Catholic School in the Edmund Rice tradition. There are 22 Flexible Schools throughout Australia who offer a full-time and multiyear secondary education program for young people who have disengaged from mainstream schooling. Enrolled young people may express a broad range of complex education and social needs and flexible schools respond with a variety of flexible and innovative teaching and learning practices including vocational planning and the development of social connectedness.</p><p>The purpose of a Flexible School is to provide young people with a varied and holistic set of learning experiences supporting them to identify and pursue an individual transition to adulthood, employment, further education and training and social connectedness.<br /> </p><p><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE</strong><br /><i>St Mary’s Flexible School is a registered and accredited Special Assistance School with small class sizes which employs a multidisciplinary team including a youth worker for each class. This full-time position works collaboratively with our Head of Campus at our St Mary’s Flexible Learning School.</p><p>Our school regularly engages in outdoor education and promotes high community involvement. Across our varied timetable, we offer young people bush cooking, mountain bike riding, swimming, and even a gym membership at the local gym! This will challenge, excite, and ignite your desire to take young people on lofty leaps in their academic and personal development.</p><p>The Teacher reports to the Head of Campus and Area Principal. They have delegated responsibility to develop and maintain learning and social inclusion responses of the campus. This includes:</p><ul><li>Planning, preparation and delivery of effective learning and teaching programs for young people.</li><li>Contributing to the development and implementation of the EREAFS objectives and planning.</li><li>Works collaboratively with all staff to provide a safe, inclusive work environment for staff and young people.</li><li>Is proactive in building relationships with young people, families/carers, and the community to ensure the best outcomes are achieved for each young person.</li></ul><p><strong>This position is continuing, full-time.</strong> </p><p><strong>To read the full position description, please on the attachment.</strong><br /> </p><p><strong>Key Attributes and Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Understanding of and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition. </li><li>Able to demonstrate the high-level communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills necessary to be successful in a complex and layered organisational structure.</li><li>Appropriate qualifications and relevant professional experience.</li><li>Ability to diagnose problems, foresee potential issues and devise appropriate responses.</li><li>Ability to lead, work in, and collaborate across teams with integrity and humility.</li><li>Tertiary Qualification in Teaching <strong>(Primary or Secondary)</strong></li><li>Strong interpersonal skills with well-developed verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Proficiency in computing software (especially Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel) and the ability to develop skills in databases.</li><li>Ability to be flexible and respond to current needs as they occur</li><li>High organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work and remain multi-task focussed.</li><li>Ability to work in a team environment and to be supportive of others in the immediate work domain.</li><li>Hold a current Drivers Licence.</li><li>A positive NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) (essential)<br /> </li></ul><p><strong>One or more specialist engagement skills from the following is highly desirable:</strong></p><ul><li>Adventure based learning;</li><li>Sport;</li><li>Creative Arts;</li><li>Music; and/or,</li><li>Cultural knowledge<br /> </li></ul><p><strong>WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:</strong></p><ul><li>Edmund Rice charism</li><li>Learn how to do school differently</li><li>Enhanced Superannuation contribution options</li><li>Salary Sacrificing benefits, including FBT exempt payments of up to $15,900 p/a</li><li>Induction, wellbeing and ongoing professional development</li><li>Supportive multi-disciplinary team environment</li><li>Free EAP counselling services<br /> </li></ul><p><strong>HOW TO APPLY: (please upload documents in PDF format)</strong><br />To apply for a position, please complete the application by clicking apply.
