<p dir="ltr"><strong>About You</strong><br /> <br />The Learning Support Teacher (K-6) in a Catholic school has a unique role to play and is assigned with the task of ensuring each child has the opportunity to grow both academically and spiritually and to live a purposeful life. As a Diverse Learning Teacher, you work to ensure every student reaches their full potential through high-quality, collaborative and engaging pedagogy.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Examples of responsibilities of the Learning Support Teacher include but are not limited to the following:</p>
<ul>
<li>assist with the identification of students with special educational needs, consult and collaborate with parents, colleagues, SCS personnel and external providers, and facilitate referral and assessment procedures where necessary</li>
<li>deliver intervention, teach students, and assist teachers with curriculum differentiation.</li>
<li>collaborate with class teachers and other relevant people to assist in the design, implementation, and monitoring and review of adjustments, as documented in the Personalised Plan (PP) or Learner Profile (LP).</li>
<li>work collaboratively with classroom teachers and Learning Support personnel.</li>
<li>contribute to the provision of staff professional development and parent education programs.</li>
<li>liaise with relevant schools particularly in relation to transition periods.</li>
<li>contribute to the preparation of documentation required under legislation in line with privacy, confidentiality, and disability obligations, for example, pre-enrolment documentation, and assist in the preparation of submissions for the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)</li>
<li>support the development of inclusive learning environments</li>
<li>employ a data-informed approach to setting challenging learning objectives and providing constructive feedback</li>
<li>support the inclusive Catholic religious and cultural environment for students</li>
<li>integrate technology to enhance contemporary learning experiences.</li>
<li>be committed to working collaboratively in a team</li>
<li>possess enthusiasm for and and the ability to contribute to the development of whole school initiatives.</li>
<li>have well developed interpersonal and organisational skills.</li>
</ul>
<p dir="ltr"><strong>You will have attained:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>a tertiary qualification in Education [for conditionally qualified Teachers, you will need to provide evidence in the form of transcripts from your teaching degree]</li>
<li>eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)</li>
<li>qualifications in Inclusive Education or willingness to study would be an advantage</li>
<li>Religious Education qualifications or the willingness to achieve them as per<a href="https://sydcatholicschools.nsw.edu.au/policies/accreditation-policy-to-work-teach-and-lead-in-sydney-catholic-schools"> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Accreditation Policy to Work, Teach, and Lead</span></a>.</li>
