The successful candidate will collaborate with school staff to assist teachers, students, and leadership in meeting the needs of students with diverse learning requirements. This is a full-time, ongoing position commencing Term 1, 2025.</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>About the role</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">The role of Learning Support Officer is to assist in the provision of education and pastoral care for students from K to 12 with a wide range of learning abilities. The Learning Support Officer works collaboratively with the Leader of Diverse Learning. As a member of St Mary's Cathedral College, the role requires a commitment to supporting a positive religious and cultural Catholic school environment.</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">As part of the Learning Support team you will assist the classroom teacher in providing a quality Catholic education focused on maximising student outcomes, through a holistic, student centred curriculum.</p> <p dir="ltr">To excel in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">an understanding of the diverse learning needs of students who require individual and in class support</li> <li dir="ltr">ability to work collaboratively with teachers as a team member</li> <li dir="ltr">excellent communication skills</li> <li dir="ltr">ability to be organised, supportive and resourceful</li> <li dir="ltr">a willingness to support the positive religious and cultural Catholic school environment for students</li> <li dir="ltr">familiar with the Catholic Schools NSW PPSD profiles is an advantage.</li> <li dir="ltr">use and integrate technology across a wide range of administrative and curriculum applications.</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">You will have attained:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">a Certificate III or IV in Educational Support from TAFE NSW or equivalent post-secondary qualification.</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Why Work for Sydney Catholic Schools</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">In joining<a href="https://sydcatholicschools.nsw.edu.au/"> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS)</span></a>, you will be part of the largest Catholic education community in NSW, with a unified vision and shared resources, encompassing over 145 schools and over 74,000 students.
