We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative STEAM teacher to design and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons that foster critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop and implement a forward-thinking STEAM program for students in Prep to Year 6.
<p>STEAM Teacher </p><p>Holy Cross Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive learning community dedicated to nurturing creativity, innovation, and a love for learning. Located in New Gisborne, our school is committed to providing a holistic education that prepares students for the challenges of the 21st century.</p><p>As part of our dynamic teaching team, you will play a vital role in integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) across our curriculum to inspire curiosity and a passion for discovery in our students.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Plan and deliver dynamic STEAM lessons that align with the Victorian Curriculum and cater to diverse learning needs.</li><li>Incorporate our school garden into lessons where applicable.</li><li>Use a variety of teaching strategies and technologies to engage and inspire students.</li><li>Facilitate project-based learning, robotics, coding, and other innovative activities.</li><li>Assess and report on student progress, providing feedback to support growth.</li><li>Foster a classroom environment that encourages creativity, teamwork, and a love of learning.</li></ul><p><strong>About You:</strong><br />The successful candidate will be a passionate educator with:</p><ul><li>A teaching qualification and current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).</li><li>Demonstrated experience or strong interest in teaching STEAM subjects.</li><li>Strong knowledge of emerging technologies and how they can be applied in education.</li><li>A commitment to creating engaging and inclusive learning environments.</li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills.</li><li>A willingness to contribute to the school community.</li></ul><p><strong>What We Offer:</strong></p><p>- Time each week to plan </p><p>- Opportunities to participate in professional learning to support the development of teaching practices </p><p>- Supportive leaders to guide, model and develop effective learning and teaching practices</p><p> </p><p>Please note, that an appointment may be made prior to the closing date if suitable applicants have been identified as fulfilling the requirements of the school and the position.</p><p>Applications should be addressed to the Acting Principal, Kellie McDonald, and should include: an application letter, current Curriculum Vitae and the details of 3 referees including current or most recent principal.</p><p>Kellie McDonald</p><p>kmcdonald@hcnewgisborne.catholic.edu.au</p><p> </p>
