Key elements of the strategy focus on opportunities to reimagine learning that enables members of our school community to be creative, self-directed and critical thinkers, who are inspired to learn, whose natural inquisitiveness is nurtured and who strive for excellence.</p><p><strong>THE POSITION</strong></p><p>The Science Laboratory Technician Assistant is responsible for ensuring the safety, efficiency and proper functioning of the science laboratories. This includes managing lab procedures, assisting in practical classes, handling and storing chemicals safely, maintain lab equipment and supporting the science faculty through the integration of new technologies.</p><p>Please refer to the attached position description for key information related to this position.</p><p><strong>ABOUT YOU</strong></p><p>In addition to being able to undertake the Key Responsibilities indicated in the position description, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate sound responses to the following <strong>selection criteria</strong>:</p><p><strong>Essential</strong></p><ul><li>Experienced and passionate science enthusiast with a strong understanding of fundamental scientific principals and laboratory practices</li><li>Sound interpersonal and communication skills</li><li>Proven time management skills and an exceptional approach to proactivity</li><li>Able to confidently and assist young people in the safe use of equipment</li><li>Problem solving skills</li></ul><p><strong>Desirable</strong></p><ul><li>Experience working in a school setting or with young people</li></ul><p>All employees are subject to appropriate employment and compliance checks prior to and during employment.
