St Patrick's Primary School seeks a Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader for a 0.4FTE role, with negotiable days. This 12-month position, likely to extend, focuses on promoting mental health and wellbeing across the school community, supporting staff with evidence-based strategies, and coordinating referral pathways. There’s also potential to expand to 0.8FTE across two Catholic schools.

<p>St Patrick's Primary School is seeking application for a new role at our school in the area of Mental Health and Wellbeing. This role commences as a 12 month position with a high likelihood of the role continuing beyond the initial period.</p> <p>The role is 0.4FTE with days scheduled by negotiation with the successful applicant. If you are seeking 0.8FTE, there may be an option to work across two local Catholic schools by negotiation - if this is of interest, please email directly to discuss (<a href="mailto:principal@spballarat.catholic.edu.au?subject=Mental%20Health%20%26%20Wellbeing%20Leader%20position%20%28via%20Teachers%20On%20Net%29">principal@spballarat.catholic.edu.au</a>).</p> <p><strong><u>Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader – roles &amp; responsibilities:</u></strong><br> The MHWL role differs from allied health wellbeing roles as it is not intended to provide one-to-one counselling to students.</p> <p><br> Operating in collaboration with the school community and wellbeing team where relevant, the purpose of this role is to:<br> 1. Promote a whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing in students, staff and families.</p> <p><br> 2. Support teachers and school staff to expand their capacity to embed evidence-based mental health strategies, interventions and programs and build mental health literacy to identify and support primary school students with mental health concerns.</p> <p><br> 3. Support their school to create clear internal and external pathways for referrals for students identified as requiring further mental health assessment and intervention.<br><br> 4. Proactively work with and support regional staff, school wellbeing and leadership teams, teachers, parents/carers and other external agencies to coordinate targeted mental health support for primary school students.<br><br> 5.
