They are empowered to take their place as future leaders who will make a significant and positive difference in our world. </p><p><br /><strong>Position Purpose</strong></p><p>The role of Science Teacher is multifaceted based on being a competent classroom practitioner with an enthusiasm for and sound knowledge of your subject area, forming and maintaining good relationships with students and parents and keeping abreast with current teaching and learning practice.</p><p><br /><strong>Reporting Accountabilities</strong></p><p>The Science Teacher is responsible and accountable to the College Principal.<br /><br /><br /><strong>Teaching Requirements and Role Accountabilities</strong></p><p>The Science Teacher is a full time 1.0 FTE permanent position commencing Term 1, 2025 (negotiable).<br /><br />The Science teacher will be responsible for delivering the NSW curriculum. For a full description of the role of the classroom teacher at Stella Maris College, see additional documents.</p><p><br /><strong>Remuneration</strong></p><p>The remuneration for the position will be as follows:</p><ul><li>Commensurate with the applicant’s level of qualification, demonstration of teaching expertise as detailed in the MEA</li><li>Superannuation Guarantee as at the current rate paid by the College in addition to salary</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Start Date</strong><br />This position will commence 24th January 2025 (negotiable)<br /><br /><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></p><ul><li>Be able to demonstrate an understanding of the charism of Good Samaritan Education as articulated in the <a href="https://new.goodsameducation.org.au/philosophy-of-education/" rel="nofollow">Good Samaritan Philosophy of Education</a></li><li>Have relevant teaching qualifications</li><li>Be able to demonstrate a high level of competency by providing an example for the five focus areas outlined in the role description for a classroom teacher:</li><li>Plan and implement Curriculum</li><li>Student Assessment and Reporting</li><li>Classroom Management</li><li>Professional Development</li><li>Collaboration and Communication</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Conditions of Appointment</strong></p><ul><li>The Science Teacher is appointed by the College Principal</li><li>Preferred applicants will be screened in accordance with Child Protection Legislation</li><li>The appointee must hold a current Working with Children Check</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Workplace Health and Safety </strong></p><p>Employees are responsible and accountable for: </p><ul><li>Compliance with workplace policies and procedures for risk identification, risk assessment and risk control</li><li>Active participation in activities associated with the management of workplace health and safety.</li><li>Identification and reporting of health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries and property damage at the workplace</li><li>Where required, correct utilisation of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment or Personal Protective Clothing</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Child Safe Standards </strong></p><p>Stella Maris College is committed to ensuring that all those engaged in the College promote the fundamental right of children and young people to be respected in a safe school environment.
